 The follow-up Committee of the 20th Iran-Pakistan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation Held

The follow-up committee for implementing the agreements of 20th Iran-Pakistan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation held on 14 October 2020.

The committee was headed by Iran Deputy Transport, Shahram Adamnejad, and Pakistan's Deputy of Economic Affairs.  

In the meeting, the two sides focused on removing current barriers to the previous agreements and their implementation alongside the mutual cooperation in the 20th Iran-Pakistan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation which was held in 2017. In doing so, they adopted optimal solutions to facilitate mutual relations in different economic sectors of trade, banking and finance, customs, energy, oil and gas, investment, and transport.

Forming bilateral committees on the following agendas by next month, and signing proposed documents in related sectors as well as holding 21th Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation during next three months were among the agreements of this meeting.  

The 6 agenda for mutual talks included:

·         Trade, Commerce, and custom affairs

·         Banking, financial, and investment

·         Information technology, communications, education and training, and science

·         Cultural heritage and tourism

·         Communications, transport (including road, rail, air, and port as well as shipping and maritime affairs)

·         Energy

 

The 20th Iran-Pakistan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation had been held on April 2017. Before holding the 21th Commission, the sides agreed to go through the follow-up session then define the date for 21th Commission.
