 Seventh Freight of Wheat from India to Afghanistan Transited through Chabahar Port

MRUD NEWS—Following previous transit of wheat freights from India to Afghanistan through Chabahar Port, the seventh shipping took berths on Shahid Beheshti Port in Chabahar and the unloading process has been started.

According to the head of Ports and Maritime Organization of Sistan and Beluchistan, Behrooz Aghaie, the freight carries 352 20-foot shipping containers amounting to 8800 tons.

By now, 1700 containers with the weight of 43000 tons of wheat freights have been transited to Chabahar Port. After loading and unloading operation, the freights have been sent to Afghanistan through road transit at Milak border at north of Afghanistan, he added.

Aghaie pointed to the fast, facilitated, and least bureaucratic process of transit through Sistan and Beluchistan that are among the main factors behind the success of transit in this Province.

He also added that the synergy and awareness on the part of the executive and responsible bodies of the importance of transit in the development and economic growth of region is absolutely necessary for sustainable freight transit.
