The inauguration was held through video conference with presence of Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, and Turkmenistan Ministry of Construction and Architecture, Rahim Gandymov, and other high-ranking officials of the two countries.
Following this inauguration, the new bridge will be under operation thence and is considered as a joint and sustainable achievement of the two countries with the aim of increasing the safety, facilitating border transit, and accelerating the traffic in the region.
The bridge is 96 meter long and 15 meter wide and has two lanes in each side.
The operation of this key project happens simultaneously with development of cooperation in the framework of The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), The Ashgabat Agreement, the Caspian Sea Agreement, and the Silk Road and it will increase transit cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan in the region.
Moreover, considering the protocols for combating covid-19, disinfection equipments are installed on two sides of the border including rail and road sectors.
Considering the technical specifications of the two-lane bridge, it is expected that the road fleet transiting export, import freights will be increased in a fast and economical process.
The increasing interactions of the two countries specially in the border is the incentives for commercial players, international and transit transport and will be the driving force for economic prosperity of the two countries.
