MRUD NEWS—Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, is visiting Sistan and Baluchistan Province on 16 March 2021 to inaugurate several projects and start new ones.

Eslami is going to pay a visit to the suburban areas of Zahedan, Khash railway, and Saravan airport.

He will inaugurate 50 kilometers highways in this Province and a 228-bed hospital in Saravan.

Eslami will embark on starting a 300-unit housing project known as 'National Housing Action'.

Overall, development of railway network is the most strategic project in the transport development policies of southeastern Iran.

Currently, Chabahar-Zahedan Railway is the most strategic project for Iran as it develops north-south corridor in the east that will stretches from Chabahar to Mashhad and then to Bojnourd and Gorgan.

Besides international effects on freight transit, Chabahar-Zahedan Railway will function as a driving force for development of this Province.

Chabahar-Zahedan Railway is 700 km long in 9 parts. In this project, the mid parts are the most difficult due to intertwined mountains.

300 million euro facilities have been allocated from the National Foreign exchange reserves for this project.

It is expected that by the end of current Government, 'Zahedan-Khash' part will be operational.
