All projects are related to the safety of the rail network and are categorized in three main sectors. The first sector is related to the rail projects that their second tracks are laid. The second part is related to the operation of quadruple-track railway including part of Tehran-Karaj rail route stretching from Tehran to Shahid Lashgari. It will be fully completed by the end of current Administration and it will cut heavy traffic subsequently. The third part is also related to rail link to freight centers that is highly important as it transfers freights from origin to destination points through railway network. 34.5 km is inaugurated which will connect 9 freight centers to railway network.
Additionally, unified Automatic train control (ATC) will control and manage the movement and speed of trains that are currently put into effect for more than 400 km routes and 70 stations.
Fleet renovation is continuing to move forward relying on domestic production of wagons and locomotives. In this launch, 205 wagons are added to the rail fleet of Iran, Eslami pointed out.
Moreover, railway data center with 120 billion tomans investment is launched that will make the railway advanced, smart, and safe for the future.
In his concluding remarks, Eslami mentioned that railway projects are accelerating further and Iran has made enormous strides in development of this transport mode through renovation and rehabilitation of fleet.
