Equipment Investment of India in Chabahar Port by Two 140 ton Cranes

MRUD NEWS—The first investment in equipment by India is realized by entering two 140 ton Cranes to the loading and unloading process of Chabahar Port with presence of Iranian and Indian officials on 31 January 2021.

According to Behrooz Aghaie, Director-general of Sistan and Baluchistan's Ports and Maritime Organization, these equipments are part of the $ 85 million investments commitments of India in Shahid Beheshti Port of Chabahar. These two $8.5 million cranes are strategic equipments for loading and unloading in Chabahar Port as per equipment and operation contracts between the two parties.

Ports and Maritime Organization has always welcomed domestic and international investments in the Oceanic Port of Chabahar according to its trans-regional role and importance.

Investment in Chabahar Port is not limited to India and PMO welcomes investments from other countries as well.

140 ton cranes are employed to facilitate and accelerate loading and unloading processes in the first phase of Shahid Beheshti development and will complement other advanced equipments.
