Iran, Turkey Sign Three Mutual MoU

MRUD NEWS—Director of Iran Railway Company, Saeed Rasouli, informed of signing three MoU between Iran and Turkey in order to increase the capacity of freight and passenger transit between the two countries.

Rasouli emphasized on the necessity of expanding rail cooperation between these two neighboring countries and added that with these agreements and mutual cooperation in the rail sector, we will break the record of freight transport during pandemic.

Head of Iran Railway Company explained that more than 500000 tons freight was transferred during 9 months from the start of the year and this volume will reach to 600000 tons which is a very good record.

Rasouli informed of the agreement with Turkey to strengthen East-West Corridor from China to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey through Iran and explained that signing of this MoU will accelerate China route to Europe, Turkey to Afghanistan, Turkey to Pakistan and connection to Iran Southern ports to Turkey.

Rasouli predicted that transnational corridor known as Istanbul-Tehran-Islamabad Route will be connected to China's 'One Belt, One Road' by rail connection of China and Turkey.
