The meeting was headed by Iran's Deputy Minister of transport, Shahram Adamnejad, Afghanistan's acting Minister of Transport, Mr. Hosni Mubarak Azizi, and the representative of Uzbekistan's delegation, Shirzad Mirziyoyev as well as other members of the taskforce.
In this trilateral taskforce that has been held following previous agreements between transport ministers of these countries, the members received reports and evaluated current affairs in transport and transit sectors between these three countries. Moreover, the members emphasized on the necessity of expanding transit cooperation among neighboring countries and removing investment barriers in their transport sectors.
Iran's Deputy Minister of transport proposed 5 issues including pilot transit of freight, Khaf-Harat and and Harat-Mazar Sharif rail development, the process of extending transit commitment of 2003, Chabahar agreement, and reaching new and final agreements in the transport sector to which the members agreed with.
The second meeting of trilateral taskforce between Iran, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan will be held to monitor the latest measures on the part of the members aiming at the development of transport between these countries.
