The business forum that will take place today is indicative of the interest of the Bulgarian and Iranian companies. We are ready to support every specific business initiative in order to help companies from both countries better understand the potential for growth in our mutual trade. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at the opening of the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Iranian Commission for Economic, Industrial, Trade and Technical Cooperation.
"Bulgaria has always paid great importance to the development of its relations with Iran, one of the most important for us trade and economic partners in the Middle East region," added Minister Jeliazkov. In his words, the sectors in which our country sees future potential for trade co-operation with Iran are the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and automotive industries as well as information technology.
He also noted that the government continues to pursue a policy aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability by directing its efforts to create better conditions for free entrepreneurship and attracting foreign investment.
It is essential for our bilateral relations to develop transport, transport infrastructure and improve the interaction between modes of transport, the minister said. The Bulgarian side welcomed the continuation of discussions on the development of the transport corridor between Greece-Bulgaria-Black Sea-Azerbaijan-Armenia-Iran.
The head of the Iranian delegation and Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami pointed out that he is ready to create better conditions for trade in different areas, which will strengthen the economic relations between the two countries.
