Afghanistan Calls for Increased Multilateral Relations through Chabahar Port

MRUD News—Head of plans at Afghanistan Transport Ministry, Mr. Abdul Ali Forugh, emphasized on the importance of Chabahar Port for Afghanistan and told that Chabahar Port provides investment opportunities and possibility of potential cooperation in the Central Asia.
Mr. Abdul Ali Forugh speaking in a summit for following up implementation of Chanahar Agreement on 25 December 2018 added that nothing like trade and bilateral and multilateral relations would entail positive developments in the countries.
Forugh added that Chabahar Port is one of the important and strategic ports in economic development plans of Afghanistan and trilateral summit is of great importance as it tends to the technical and details of affairs.
Head of plans at Afghanistan Transport Ministry explained that his country is landlocked hence Chabahar Port can play an important role for Afghanistan as it facilitates commercial transactions.
Chabahar Port has unique characteristics and provides investment opportunities and possibility of potential cooperation in the Central Asia, he emphasized.
Forough added that Afghanistan is pleased with cooperation with Iran in Chabahar because it can meet the needs of country.
A trilateral agreement was signed by Presidents of Iran and Afghanistan and Prime Minister of India in May 2016 between Iran, India, and Afghanistan in order to facilitate, accelerate, and improve transit and commerce by connecting India and Afghanistan to Central Asian countries through Chabahar Port.
