The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has finally issued selling licenses for Airbus and Boeing on September 21, 2016. After Iran Airs initial MoU with Airbus in January 2016 for the purchase of 118 aircrafts and subsequently negotiations with Boeing, the deal awaited a sales permission on the part of OFAC which were necessary documents for the deals involving over 220 aircrafts.
